Benefit's They're Real mascara review

Okay, first off I want to say I'm SO sorry for not writing ANYTHING lately, it's been a very.... eventful week...

Anyways so today I'm going to review Benefit's They're Real mascara! I ordered this from Sephora late last month, and prior to this I have always just used store bought stuff.

Okay so you can find this at Sephora or Ulta, at $23 at either place. (Depends on where you prefer to shop I suppose).

When you first start looking at this mascara, it SEEMS to claim that it will give you falsie-like eyelash length. (Of course it doesn't officially say those words, but with the name "They're Real" what else is one to believe?)

 PROS:

Honestly, I like that it's long lasting. Most mascaras that I have used in the past have started flaking onto my cheeks after like 6 hours, or smudged, and waterproof is damn near impossible to get off.
This thankfully is between those two! It doesn't flake or smudge, and it comes off just when you want to.

Another pro is that it doesn't burn like crazy! I mean yeah if you poke your eye it's gonna hurt, but it doesn't burn like you're staring into the sun like other mascaras often do.

It doesn't smell bad! I mean granted, it doesn't smell GOOD, it doesn't really have a smell. Why do I care what it smells like you ask? Because it's on my face right next to my nose. I've used some mascaras that smell like roses, which would be nice if it wasn't over powering. Some smell so bad that you can't even put it on. This one is NOT one of those.

It doesn't clump! Of course when used correctly it doesn't clump. Many other mascaras claim to not clump and then your eyes look like spider webs! This is true to that, and it even has a neat little thing on the end to grab those hard to reach lashes.

Sorry this is the only pic I really have of my use of it without wearing falsies.

Cons:

Okay so there's only one real con to this. It does NOT replace falsies like you are kind of led to believe. I still use my falsies. I have little baby lashes so I coughed up $23 for this in hopes that I wouldn't have to continue to use lashes and glue, but unfortunately I do. It's just not as dramatic of a change in length as advertised.
This is extremely dramatized.

 Conclusion:

All in all, I WILL continue to buy this mascara because honestly, the pros outweigh the cons! Let me know what you think of it!

So there you have it!

What should I review next?

Sincerely,
Miranda

*Benefit Cosmetics did NOT pay me in any way to write this review. I purchased this from Sephora at my own will and decided to review it as I will with my other cosmetics.

Dec '14 Horror Block Review

For Christmas I signed my husband up for Horror Block, right? Paid $82 for this sucker including shipping, and that's only for 3 months! So I paid early/mid Dec, and it said it would be shipping out like the 22nd. So nothing for quite awhile. Now it finally arrived here on 1/7! It took that long!

Okay so now by this time I was already agitated because they offered a coupon code for new subscriptions, but it wouldn't work so the facebook mods told me to email the billing dept, which I did. They said that the coupon ONLY applied to certain subscriptions (which it did NOT say on the ad), so I called them out for false advertisement.

At this point they stopped responding to me, even when I asked if they could supply me with a tracking number. Nothing. No response.

After these 3 months are up I will NOT renew, and I will not suggest Horror Block to anyone I know.

So let's get started with what he got in his December block (that he didn't get until January).

At least the box is cute.

Okay so they said it would include something to help you survive in the zombie apocalypse....
Apparently hand sanitizer falls into that category.

This is a little maggot eye skeleton toy, you squeeze the head and his eyes bulge out and have nasty little maggots in them. It's cute, but cheap.

It came with a Poltergeist mouse pad. Decent, but we're not Poltergeist fans. Looks like my Dad is getting a mouse pad as one of his Birthday gifts, ha!

Okay so it wasn't ALL bad, we got this Wolf Man POP! Funko figure to add to our collection, so I was happy about that!

The Overlook Hotel shirt from The Shining is pretty kick ass, I like the Shining!

Ghostbusters edition of Rue Morgue was perfect for my husband, so he's very excited to read through this! I can't wait to take a peek myself!

So that's it! Without shipping that's about $30 a month. Personally I don't think it's worth it. Yeah financially it is, because the items add up to equal more than $30, but it's not really stuff that pertains to us, if you know what I mean? I wish there was more variety from person to person, like Ipsy bags so you can trade out what you don't care for.
Over all, Doug rates it a 6. Let's hope next month is better!

Thanks for tuning in!

Sincerely

Faux roll with ponytail

Okay so today was SUPPOSED to be my chicken wing dip recipe, but I forgot to take pics! Ahhhh! So instead I'm posting a hair tutorial!

I don't really know what to call it other than "Faux Roll w/ ponytail" So if you can think of a more accurate name, please share in the comments!

Okay so HAIR WE GO!
(See what I did there? Ha!)

Step One
Section your bangs (or front area if you don't have bangs), and stick the rest of your hair in a ponytail to get it out of the way

Step Two
Give an all over spray with Healthy Sexy Hair: Soy Touchable. This is a great working hair spray, and it smells fantastic, also it has a natural heat protectant. Take your front part into smaller section and curl them with your 1" barrel curler.

Step Three
Continue to do that to all of your bangs (front part).

Step Four
Go back and take those sections and tease them! Please excuse my face in the first pic- I hate teasing. Your hair should look like a big crazy mass of blahhh. Yes, teasing is vital, it's how you get volume.

Step Five
Take your smoothing brush and hold your hand under your curled/teased hair, and smooth the frizzies over gently.

Step Six
Get a bobby pin ready, and take your teased/curled/smoothed front part and roll it up like in the pic, secure it in place with bobby pins, I usually use 2 pins.

Step Seven
Go back and make the ponytail pretty, and the hair flat (this pic is not a good example, but I was running late). I also like the take a wee bit out on both sides, because I have a big face, and they help to frame my face a little better.

Step Eight
Curl those side things if you choose to do them, and go through and curl sections of the pony tail. Don't mind my face in the one curling pic, I was talking to the husband when my timer snapped the pic haha

Step Nine
I use this Redken sculpting stuff, take a small glob, and rub it between your hands to warm it up, then carefully run it over any little wispies you may have. Give a once over with Big Sexy Hair spray & stay- not pictured.

Step Ten
Add a scarf or a bandanna, and you're golden! Enjoy, doll!

Miranda

9 Things I love, and 9 things I hate

Honestly I have no idea what I should be writing about today. It was actually my day off with NOTHING to do! So I didn't do my hair or my makeup, or do anything except lounge around.
It was amazing.

So to fill time until I post my Chicken wing dip tomorrow, I'm just going to do this 9 things I love and 9 things I hate list!

For future reference, please comment what you'd like to see me post about in my off days like today!

Okay so let's get started!

9 Things I love:

Yeah, I gotta pretty darn cute family.
1. First thing's first- obviously my family! I love them! PS. Chris Sarandon is not my family, but we had a family photo with him, because we're an awesome family!

2. Harley Quinn. Both of them! I love Harley Quinn from the Batman: Animated Series, and the Arkham games, AND I love my daughter, who we named Harley Quinn because of my obsession

3. Pin Up. I love love love retro, rockabilly style pin up! I'm wanting to start getting into a little bit of modeling, so I have a Model Mayhem site, so hopefully that goes somewhere. But I love all of it! The classiness, the hair, the makeup, the clothes, music, etc! Even the poses I love!

4. Pepsi. aka: caramel colored gold. I just love it so much, the perfect amount of fizz, the yummy taste of magic, and the beautiful smell. Honestly if I could drink nothing but Pepsi, I would. No diet though, eff that crap.

This show highlights that even people who don't look "normal" can be nice, and sometimes it's the plain looking people who can be the real monsters!
 5. The Munsters. My husband and I love this freaking show! Actually, in just about a month he's getting Herman tattooed on his leg and I'm getting Lily on my leg too! <3

www.PureRomance.com/MirandaHarvey
6. Pure Romance. I love my job! With Pure Romance I am a sexual health educator, and I sell relationship enhancement products. This helps me to earn an awesome income, while being able to stay home more with my daughter, and also meet some fantastic ladies!

Nomm Nomm Nomm
7. Pizza. Pizza is amazing. Stuffed crust pizza is even better. Sadly this is not my tattoo, although if it were, it certainly wouldn't have mushrooms on it. That shit is nasty.

 8. Horror movies. Who doesn't love horror movies? Even my daughter's favorite movie is Nightmare Before Christmas, and she laughs at the zombies on The Walking Dead (she's 16 months). She went to her first horror convention at 3 weeks old (we go every year).

9. Video Games. Specifically Xbox 360. Borderlands is an amazing game, and I'm not even a FPS fan, but Borderlands is my exception. I love so many games, but to name a few; Fable games, Left 4 Dead (when people actually played), Injustice, the Arkham games, Rockband games, Devil May Cry (especially 3), etc.

Now For Things I Hate:

Unimpressed.
1. This Hate List. I hate everything from this point on, so naturally I hate this list, and the photos I had to shiver my way through to get.

2. Sony. After going through 4 different PS2s in a year, and watching my friends PS3 take multiple craps, I say PS products in my house!

Love One Another
3. Body Shaming. Fat, skinny, tall, short, etc. Who cares? Love who you are and love others around you. Women help each other up, girls push each other down. Stop shaming another size to make you feel better about your own. Be happy in your skin.

4. Twilight. Okay so I worked at Spencers when this first came out, so hearing swarms of 10 year old girls saying that they want Edward's babies just kind of ruined it for me. Also real vampires suck blood- not dick.

Stop saying "Don't think about it, it will happen when it happens." Because that doesn't help.
5. Infertility. Okay so I can personally attest for the super suckiness of this disease. Infertility killed me for almost 3 years. Many tests and unsuccessful procedures later, I tried acupuncture and within a month and a half of that we finally got our positive!

Yesh. It's true.
6. Sean Connery. Well... not so much Sean Connery himself, mainly just his voice. It just gets to me.

7. People chewing on their clothes. Okay I can't really explain this one, but just stop friggin doing it. Stop it. It gives me shivers. Grab a damn snickers if you're that hungry.

I want to vomit right now.

8. Maggots. Nope. This is the Nopiest of all Nopes from Hell Nopeia. Nope. Nope nope. Nope.

9. This thing. Some people call it a cat? WTF ever. This this is a used condom in the shape of a large rat.

There's that post- thanks for tuning in! Please don't forget to subscribe, comment, and share!

Sincerely,
Miranda

Kat Von D Autograph Eyeliner Review

Awhile ago (In mid December, 2014) I made my first ever Sephora order, and I decided it was time for a new liquid liner. Now, I've been using liquid liner for many years, so I'm always trying new kinds. I've literally tried a couple dozen kinds.

Sometimes the  liner would be okay for a few times, then dry up or just dull at the end. For retro style winged eyeliner, it's vital to have a sharp point at the end of your wing! Most brands that I've bought are from the store or direct sales companies (i.e. Avon). Some were felt tip pens, some were these little capsules with dip applicators, some were dip pots with a liner brush, etc.

I honestly thought that flaking and smudging were just something that you had to get used to with liquid liner.

However with my recent order, I have seen the light, and the light is good!

I made a purchase of Kat Von D Autograph Liquid Liner in Puro Amor, and I don't think I ever want to change!

Kat Von D Autograph liquid eyeliner in Puro Amor

This is honestly the best liquid liner I've ever used.

Reasons why I love it:

It's got a perfectly pointy applicator, almost a month of daily use and it's still nice and pointy!

Nice, smooth application, you don't have to keep redrawing it to make it straight

Easy application, perfect to draw the guidelines on with.

It's long lasting! This picture was taken almost 12 HOURS after application! No smudging, no flaking, and it's still nice and dark!

Things I dislike about it:

Honestly there's only one thing I dislike about it...

It ouchies. I don't mean like when you poke yourself in the eye, because duh, that's going to hurt, but this burns the skin on the eyelid, especially the inner eye. It only hurts for a minute though, while it's drying.

Oh, and the price, but hey, you get what you pay for, and this is worth EVERY CENT!

And that's it! That's my product review for the Kat Von D Autograph liquid liner! Stay tuned for more reviews and tutorials!

Sincerely,
Miranda
